Plan a grocery delivery around your address, storage space and availability to receive it. Check the final basket and put temperature-sensitive food away promptly.
Before you fill the basket
Check the current delivery information for your address and the items you want. Ambient groceries and temperature-sensitive products may have different availability or conditions. Do not rely on an old blog post's fixed dispatch days or fee: use the current shipping page and the final checkout calculation.
Look at cupboard, fridge and freezer space before ordering large packs. Plan who can receive the parcel and how it will be brought inside. A delivery promise should fit the actual checkout information, not a deadline inferred from a recipe article.
Before you place the order
- Confirm names, pack sizes and quantities, including multipack contents.
- Read ingredients and relevant allergen information for each selected product.
- Check the delivery address and contact details carefully.
- Review product availability, delivery charges, discounts and the final total.
- Keep the order confirmation so questions can be linked to the correct order.
A free-shipping threshold is useful only if the extra items are wanted and will be used. Compare the cost of the added groceries with the delivery saving rather than assuming a fuller basket always costs less.
When the parcel arrives
Check the delivered items against the order, including packaging condition and the labelled storage needs. Put chilled and frozen food into suitable storage promptly. Follow the actual pack's instructions; do not leave temperature-sensitive groceries on a counter while photographing the rest of the order.
If packaging is damaged, contents differ or temperature handling is uncertain, contact the shop with the order reference and relevant photographs. Appearance or smell alone cannot establish that food has been handled safely. Keep questionable food separate while seeking advice rather than serving it to avoid waste.
