Jasmine rice is a variety of Oryza sativa. Jasmine rice is a long grain rice native to Thailand with a delicate floral and buttery scent.
The secret to cooking it perfectly is getting the right ratio of water to rice. Jasmine rice is from primarily in Thailand, Cambodia, Laos, and southern Vietnam.
Jasmine Rice is moist and soft in texture when cooked, with a slightly sweet flavor.
Simply place the rice in a bowl with water, and then swish it around to release any excess starch. The water will be cloudy at first but after several rinses, it will be clear. Keep it dry and cold place away from direct sunlight.
